The sad saga of a little boy's

A matter of public record: On
November 29,
2009 Shaun R. Hillis was
arrested by Anchorage Police for assault on a 7 year old boy. Mr. Hillis has numerous entries in public records accessible via the Alaska Court System. Shaun R. Hillis
was convicted
of a previous Shaun Hillis was convicted of domestic

This was the FIFTH TIME the little boy was abused - but the sytem FAILED HIM on four previous occasions. The Office of Children Services had four previous reports on the little boy. They interviewed Hillis several times. The Anchorage Municipal Prosecutor only charged Hillis with a misdemeanor. They have no felony laws, only the state does. The State of Alaska District Attorney declined to prosecute this case as a felony. Hillis showed no remorse in court. He got the proverbial slap on the wrist. Four months easy time in a halfway house! OUTRAGEOUS! |
Below is the little boy who ended up in the hospital.
According to the
police report, he told officers his "daddy" punched him with his fist.
The report reflects he also
told officers "daddy says I can't go to school each time I look like
this" . . . I was present
during this interview as the boy's subsequently appointed guardian.
THIS LITTLE BOY DESERVES JUSTICE!
Governor
Sean Parnell
made a public statement on December 3, 2009 about getting tough on
domestic
violence. Does this savage beating of a young boy by an
adult five times his size qualify Governor?
PROVE IT! Let's see some definitive action,
not "business as usual" !
Other
states
have specific laws - why can't we? We
need new laws
specifically to address this kind of violence.
THE
CURRENT LAWS DON'T WORK!
I KNOW... I TALKED TO YOUR STATE
DISTRICT ATTORNEYS
I KNOW... I TALKED TO THE MUNICIPAL PROSECUTORS
I KNOW... I TALKED TO YOUR OFFICE.
I KNOW... THE NEWS MEDIA DOESN'T CARE.
I
have
questions
for
the
people
of
the
State
of
Alaska:
Are we going to wait for child abusers to hurt other children or demand justice for these defenseless children?
Shouldn't child abusers go to jail and do hard time for such a heinous crime?
Should child abusers be locked up so they won't flee to another state to avoid prosecution?
Is the system going to
work for the victims in this case?
If this was YOUR GRANDSON how would you
feel?
What
kind
of
person
would
do
this
to
a
little
boy?
